Up late, and go downstairs to use the exorbitantly priced hotel internet - $32 for 2 hours. Plus Ieuan spends a small fortune on 2 cups of coffee.Typed up some of the blog and posted it until the end of August, but couldn’t get and pictures on due to the computer set up at the hotel. Seemed to get some free usage afterwards as the pc didn’t cut out, which Lou embraces but Ieuan is wary of. Shortly after, the PC does cut out so we leave and head into town – to Orchard road, where we stop at Pizza Hut for lunch.
Have a further look round the shops in Singapura Plaza, and a giant bookshop, then head home in the rain, stopping to internet on the way and at the Shell garage for drinks. Sort out Louise's broken phone and arrange for Orange to replace the handset by sending Lou’s phone back to the UK. Our laundry is back. Later we get a taxi to Clarke Quay for dinner as it's still raining and Ieuan might disintergrate in the rain. Went to the Indian Kitchen which Lou had spotted a couple of days before. Had delicious beetroot puree dish (Chukander Ki Tikki) and cumin potatoes (Aloo 65) to start, then a Chettinard Curry (Matki Dum Murgh – saffron and green cardamon) and Chicken Chilli (Murgh Haryali Kothmiri – coriander and chilli) for mains which were very nice. Chatted to the Nepalese waiter, Ganesh, who was studying in Singapore.
