Last full day in Kota Kinabalu, get up have breakfast and head to Wisma Merdeka for stationery supplies, and to look for a fast internet connection, the one we were directed to on the 6th floor turned out to be rubbish. Ieuan was then deposited at the usual internet cafe (as the one recommended as fast by LP has closed) to start typing up the blog. Louise meanwhile goes to sort out the sending of stuff home, ie buying & packing boxes and then re-queuing in hundreds of queues at the post office. Louise returns an hour and a half later having sent 2 boxes, one express and one by surface mail.
Louise needs rewarding so we lunch at the Hyatt again, salads and ice cream, before heading back to the room to chill out. Read our books for a bit, get ruck sacks packed up ready to leave. Ieuan not feeling too well. We head out to the Jesselton hotel to look at pizza place, which didn't look that great or very busy, so head off down the promenade to tapas place, also empty, move on to an italian/spanish place on the front, which Ieuan doesn't like the look of, so ended up back at Secret Recipe for Tom Yam soup and lasagne and cake. Soup was not great, had to watch as next door's food was sent back as it was un-cooked. Head back to our room.
